As part of the anniversary year of the 80th birthday of Peter Robert Keil, the Keil Collection Team Heidelberg went on a short trip to Maulbronn to visit an exquisite private collection and gather new impulses for the upcoming events and publications in 2022. The collector couple Jutta and Manfred Heinrich in Maulbronn have built up an impressive collection impressive collection over decades.
with approx. 800 square metres of exhibition space. Currently, there are about 350 works by about 40 different artists on display. The collection focuses on Berlin painting of the post-war period, especially the “Jungen Wilden“. With his always open, friendly and highly competent manner, Mr Heinrich guided us through the works of artists such as Rainer Fetting, Johannes Grützke, Wofgang Petrick and Walter Stöhrer. Apart from the monumental works themselves, the history of the development of the art collection, in which the love of art has always been at the centre and which has been assembled over several decades completely free of trends and current market events, was impressive.
An intensive and constructive exchange took place between the Keil Collection, Dr Hoge and Mr Heinrich about the classification and scope of the very lively and dynamic art scene of this Berlin period. Finally, possible future cooperations were discussed.
Charged with new ideas and impulses, elated by the Berlin lifestyle of the time, they returned to Heidelberg.
